Training

Training Glen Carne has it's own classroom which allows up to 12 students to study at the centre. Duchy College provides training in Horticulture for two days a week on site, with visits to Rosewarne College, and other garden attractions such as the Eden Project and Heligan Gardens. The NVQ is primarily for residents although we welcome potential students from the local community.

Truro College also provides computer studies on Wednesday mornings 10.30-12pm at Glen Carne and this facility is also open to the public. Other courses recently included photography and art. Many courses are available to the public at Glen Carne - contact Matt Gavan on 01872 554141 for details.

We have a number of workshops and classes held at Glen Carne to help residents train and gain life skills. These are also open to the public and have included first aid, team building, food hygiene, healthy eating, budgeting, health and safety, manual handling, literacy and numeracy and work preparation classes. In addition to local colleges we also work with organisations such as CN4C.
